The Traffic Services Unit works to prevent vehicular crashes and to expeditie the flow of traffic on Mt. Lebanon roads. The Traffic Services Unit acts as a liaison between the police department and other agencies involved with traffic direction, control and safety.

 The unit handles traffic enforcement; fatal and serious crash investigations, driver training and education. It deals with seizures, towing of vehicles and handles complaints about abandoned or improperly stored vehicles.  The Traffic Services Unit also oversees the crossing guard program, which includes 54 crossing guards and one supervisor.
